HVTC 40th Anniversary - Nicole Millman
Since completing her traineeship with HVTC in 2003, Nicole Millman has continued to develop in her career and gain experience in various roles, including administration and payroll, internally with HVTC.
Nicole initially decided to pursue a traineeship pathway to further her studies and gain additional experience in the administrative and finance industries.
“I had just completed my Certificate III in Business Administration at TAFE and was looking for a full-time position when HVTC advertised for this role. I was fortunate enough to have been shortlisted and was offered a traineeship to progress my studies."
During her traineeship, Nicole completed a Cert IV in Business Admin through the Power Business Institute while completing on-the-job training at HVTC’s Hunter office. Now, Nicole still works with the HVTC team as the Assistant Accountant.
“After I completed my traineeship, I was fortunate enough to be offered a permanent position with HVTC working in the finance department. I am still currently employed by HVTC, with my role varying over the years. My current position involves overseeing our payroll team with the processing, compliance, and system developments of the HVTC payroll.
“I have attended numerous payroll and taxation related seminars and in-house training over the years to assist my ongoing development and knowledge for my role. Currently I am undertaking further studies in Accounting to develop my skills in Finance.”
Nicole says that being offered a full-time position with HVTC after completing her traineeship and having the opportunity to work with a dedicated and passionate team over the last 19 years are the clear highlights of her experience with HVTC.
“After working in the Group Training industry for some time now and completing a traineeship myself, I see how apprenticeships and traineeships can lead to a great career path whilst offering an opportunity to learn and earn at the same time.”
