HVTC 40th Anniversary - Dylan Louden
Since completing his Certificate IV in Local Government (Regulatory Services) through a traineeship with HVTC and Goulburn Mulwaree Council, Dylan Louden has continued to work with Council and develop in his career.
Dylan chose to go down the traineeship pathway to pursue his interest in local government and get a foot in the door to a future career.
“I saw the opportunity for a challenging and exciting career path that could lead to a permanent position for good job security,” he said.
“I found that the traineeship was a great way to learn on the job and earn an income at the same time.”
Dylan said that the support he received from HVTC and Council throughout his traineeship was a highlight of his training, as well as being offered a full time position with Council upon completion.
The now 28-year-old currently works as a Community Enforcement Officer with Council, where he is involved with the compliance department. Dylan says that in his role, he is able to learn from the Environment and Health team to expand his knowledge and skills.
Dylan has also undertaken a Cert III in Correctional Practice since completing his traineeship with HVTC in 2015 to further expand his knowledge in his career.
Dylan says he would recommend the traineeship pathway to others as it provided him a start in his career in local government.
