HVTC 40th Anniversary - Chantal Nash

After completing her Human Resources traineeship with HVTC and PGSR in 2019, Chantal Nash has continued to develop in her career and launched her own business in the HR and employment services industry.

“I was a mature aged trainee. Prior to receiving the traineeship, I was not experienced in HR and needed to be trained. I also failed school and was not very academic, however, I learn very well hands-on, so a traineeship made sense,” she said.

“I have always had a soft spot for ‘the underdog’ and always tried to help people in the workplace. It was brought to my attention that I would be great in a HR position, so I thought about it and got to looking.

"The position with HVTC was the first position I saw, so I applied and was successful. I wanted more for my life then what I was doing and was so proud of myself when I received the congratulations call.”

Chantal progressed through her traineeship quickly and completed early at the end of 2019 with a Cert IV in Human Resources. After completing, Chantal was nominated for Trainee of the Year in the 2020 HVTC Excellence Awards and was successful in taking out that category.

“I have never been so proud of an achievement academically and the knowledge I have gained is priceless. I am forever grateful for the experience.”

Since then, Chantal gained a position with her Host Employer before going on to start up her own business.

“I was offered a full time position with PGSR which I kept for 12 months after my traineeship. I then completed further studies and launched my company Solid 101. We are all things employment.

“We run workshops for long term unemployed participants and troubled youth. This is my major passion project, being able to use my knowledge and experience to make a real difference fulfills me. Our first workshops were the PaTH program where I was contracted with HVTC. This was such an honour for me to be able to work with HVTC again after my traineeship.

“I also have ‘Solid HR’ where I work with small businesses who are not big enough to have a full time HR department, however, they require the needs of a Human Resources role. I do everything from recruitment, creating contracts, standard operating procedures and motivating their staff to find their passion back for their careers, work together to reach common goals for the business, and much more.

“I also have ‘Take the Bull by the Horns’ where I work with victims to help them let go of what has been holding them back and learn to love themselves completely.

“I am so passionate about helping people find their way and their why, this has been the driving force behind Solid101.”

Chantal has gone on to complete her Master Practitioner Training and Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), Time Line Therapy and Hypnosis, and is also currently studying a Cert IV in Training and Assessing to further develop her knowledge and skills in her career.
