Alfabs Group Supports Local School Leavers through Apprenticeship Opportunities

2021 has certainly thrown a few curveballs our way, including for our recent school leavers who have navigated their final years of schooling during a pandemic and are entering the world of employment at such a difficult time.

Vocational education and training opportunities are essential in supporting this transition for school leavers and providing skills training and employment opportunities for young people to kickstart their careers in an area of their interest.

Luckily, the Alfabs Group of Companies is supporting local communities across their sites in the Hunter, North West, and Illawarra regions by providing a range of apprenticeship opportunities for young school leavers through HVTC’s Group Training Organisation.

Alfabs Group is a NSW-based heavy engineering and mining equipment organisation that has been working with HVTC to provide apprenticeship and traineeship opportunities since 2017.

The continued partnership with HVTC has allowed Alfabs to give back to the community through expanding their apprenticeship program to include additional placements in 2022.

HVTC are currently advertising and recruiting for the 2022 apprenticeship positions with Alfabs, with opportunities available in Kurri Kurri, Unanderra, and Narrabri, across the following vocations:

• Engineering Fabrication
• Engineering Mechanical
• Industrial Spray Painting
• Automotive Light Vehicle

These apprenticeships offer young people the chance to easily transition from school to employment and gain real industry experience with Alfabs while working towards a nationally recognised qualification.

Through partnering with HVTC to provide local opportunities for skills training and development, Alfabs are committed to supporting the economic recovery of NSW and contributing to the growth of Australia’s skilled workforce.

If you or someone you know is interested in kickstarting their trade career in 2022, head to and search “Alfabs” to view the current opportunities available with the Alfabs Group of Companies across their NSW locations.

If your business is also looking to take on apprenticeship or traineeship placements in 2022, take advantage of the generous incentives available through the government’s Boosting Apprenticeship Commencements program and get a 50% wage subsidy for the first year of an apprenticeship or traineeship. The program has also recently been extended to include subsidies for the second and third years of eligible placements, so contact HVTC on 1800 247 864 to find out more.
