How does Group Training Work?

A Group Training Company employs apprentices and trainees and places them with host employers under an agreement to enable the apprentice/trainee to attain the on job skills associated with their vocation. A Group Training Company is able to “rotate” an apprentice/trainee to alternate organisations where:

i. Work at the current organisation runs out or;
ii. Vocational competencies are not able to be delivered at that organisation

The Group Training Company remains the legal employer of the apprentice/trainee for the duration of their contract and therefore remains responsible for all the associated employment conditions.

About Traineeships / Apprenticeships

A traineeship or apprenticeship is full-time or part-time employment that combines work and structured training. Traineeships usually last one to two years and include occupations, such as business administration
(admin, accounts, HR, local govt. etc), retail, hospitality and more. Apprenticeships last three to four years and are generally offered in the traditional trade industries, such as building and construction, metals and engineering, electrotechnology to name just a few. Throughout the duration of the apprenticeship, training is undertaken at a TAFE or other approved training provider (RTO).
