Merindah Funnell is a year 11 student at Cronulla High and is a School Based Trainee at The Shire Group Training.
As well as attending school, Merindah works at The Shire Group Training one day per week and is studying Certificate II in Business Services through OTEN as a part of her traineeship. The traineeship counts towards 4 units in the higher school certificate.
School based Traineeships and Apprenticeships combine the following:
• A higher school certificate
• Part time paid work for a minimum of 100 days over two years*
• Structured work based training
• A training program delivered by a registered training organization, eg: school, TAFE, OTEN
