The Board of Hunter Valley Training Company (HVTC) has appointed Robert Fuller as its new Chief Executive Officer. Mr Fuller’s appointment comes after an exhaustive search by HVTC’s Board and coincides with the company’s official 30th Anniversary in 2011.

Robert brings to HVTC extensive senior level experience in business management and policy issues gained from previous senior roles as Chief Executive Officer of the Newcastle Master Builders Association, NSW General Manager and National Operations Manager for the Printing Industry Association (Sydney) and most recently as State Director Queensland for the Committee for Economic Development of Australia (CEDA). He has a degree in Commerce from Newcastle University.

Robert is highly skilled in strategic business development with strong knowledge in group apprenticeship scheme management. He founded the MBA’s group apprenticeship scheme, introduced innovative industry training for the national printing sector and more recently established a program for emerging senior managers in Queensland.

He has extensive experience across all levels of government and corporate sectors with a strong public policy portfolio and an in-depth knowledge of the needs and drivers of training organisations such as HVTC. Robert is well respected in NSW and QLD which will assist HVTC in achieving its next level of expansion as Australia’s premier benchmark group apprenticeship company.

HVTC currently provides jobs and skills training for more than 1,200 apprentices and trainees across all industry sectors at its 12 regional offices throughout NSW and QLD and is an acknowledged industry leader in training for the mining and energy sectors.

"The appointment of our new CEO is perfectly timed with our 30th year and beyond and we look forward to Mr Fuller continuing to build our profile and presence in the training sector,” HVTC Chairman, Hon Milton Morris AO said.

“The HVTC Board is confident he will provide strong leadership for our great team
and make a worthwhile contribution to the national training agenda."

Mr Fuller will start his new role mid January 2011.
