Our training team is passionate, experienced and dedicated to skilling the tradespeople of tomorrow.

The collective knowledge shared by our trainers is impressive and stems from working experiences in industries and areas such as manufacturing, mining, engineering, medical equipment, shipbuilding, power station construction, building and construction.

All trainers are highly qualified tradespeople whose experiences promote realistic and relevant training in a safe supportive environment.

Sharon Smith

Chief Executive Officer

Sharon Smith was appointed as HVTC CEO in November 2012. She took on the role with an outstanding record of achievement, with over 20 years as a dynamic and influential Senior Executive in the Utilities, Regional Development and private sectors. This includes various roles leading large operational and shared services teams across Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Procurement and Business Development areas.


Janet Lee

Manager Human Resources / Safety Services

Janet’s role is responsible for the development and implementation of HR and Safety systems. These systems support recruitment, talent management and training, and ensure the health, safety and welfare of all HVTC employees.


Libby Ford

Operations Manager

Libby is HVTC’s Operations Manager and has worked in various roles including the Group Training Operations in Payroll and as a Team Leader to the GTO Team. Libby was promoted to Manager GTO Operations December 2012.

Commercial Manager

Jeanette has been with HVTC since February 2015 and was promoted to Commercial Manager in February 2017. Having started her career in public practice, servicing clients from a wide variety of industries and sizes, she is well positioned to understand and support our host employers. Making the move into commercial accounting 10 years ago she brings experience in implementing strategic initiatives, process and system improvements, and a service orientated approach.
